U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene released a statement, announcing what she’s planning next to accomplish during her second term in office.

Recently, Greene called for the new Republican majority in the House to launch immediate investigations into Hunter Biden’s laptop, the military withdrawal from Afghanistan, federal aid to Ukraine and the origin of COVID-19.

Greene has been a supportive ally of House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy. She also previously defended him against a challenge by fellow conservatives in the House Freedom Caucus. The US Rep. argued that her colleagues were wrong for supporting an eleventh-hour challenge that was unsuccessful.

“Earlier this week, McCarthy won a secret ballot to become the next House Speaker with 175 votes, while 31 Republicans voted for Rep. Andy Biggs from Arizona. According to the report, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene “expects” to get “rewarded for her loyalty” by becoming a member of the powerful Oversight and Reform Committee,” Conservative Cardinal reported.

Greene’s announcement came after Republicans that are currently on the Oversight Committee, declared on Thursday that they will be conducting an investigation into whether US President Joe Biden and his family were involved in “shady business schemes.”

“I’m looking forward to working with my Republican colleagues on this,” Greene wrote in a statement in response to the declaration.

Moreover, Greene, Clyde and other conservatives also declared that they would be introducing a resolution as part of their effort to force the Biden administration to detail how every penny sent to Ukraine has been doled out.

Greene also made national headlines after she announced her plans to use her vote to bring resources to Georgia through the reauthorization of the federal farm bill. However, she also made it clear that her focus was the investigations centered on Biden and his administration that has captured most of the attention as one of the House’s highest-profile members and newly empowered under a GOP majority.

“We cannot open the door to the Democrats peeling off several of our Republicans and working together to choose a speaker that they would control. We have to have the gavel; that is extremely important because the gavel means subpoena power, and Republicans need subpoena power going over the next two years.” Greene lamented in a speech she made this week.

Furthermore, U.S. Rep. Austin Scott released a statement, showing his support for Greene.

“She’s going to get her committee assignments, and I think people should have showed her a little grace. Any individual member has the right to say things, but the conference as a whole will make the determination on what does and what doesn’t get investigated,” he said.
